Secret Pal Strikes Again
Last Friday, I received a large envelope from my secret pal. In it was a fun little card, a copy of the new VK magazine knit.1 (premiere issue), incense sticks, and a silk hankie scarf kit, which I've never seen/heard of before. I love it!

When I opened the package, this lovely scent of Frankincense and Myrrh wafted out, which I really like. I like the size of knit.1. Just the right size to put in your bag. It's layout is similar to Vogue, Glamour, Jane, Seventeen, etc. (i.e., like a fashion magazine). There are some nice patterns in there to knit and crochet.

Secret Pal gift

I was very intrigued by the silk hankie scarf kit. I had never seen anything like it before. It looks like a folded scarf, but it's actually one very long thin sheet of sheer silk fiber. The kit has enough spun silk for a 6"x50" scarf. You need to "draft" the silk, which means to thin it out to the required thickness for knitting. I need to prep my hands with hand lotion for days before starting this project. The silk is very thin and needs to be handled delicately. The color is "Sea & Sand" and looks tie-dyed. Very nice (I do like tie-dyed clothing). I can't wait to knit it up and see how the colors come out.

Thank you, again, Secret Pal!

KRSP II Update
We're up to approximately 38 people as of today. If you have not sent me your profile, please send it ASAP or your participation in KRSP II will be delayed. I expect to get assignments out beginning on Wednesday and no later than Thursday afternoon. Please be patient as it takes time to send the emails and include your pal's profile with the email. Once you have your pal's information, you MUST contact your pal within seven days. This can be an email, a post card, etc. Once you have heard from your pal, you MUST post a message to the Yahoo group. Here is the link to the group blog - http://krsecretpals.blogspot.com/ just so you can see what it will look like. I'll begin taking requests via email for those who want to post to this site beginning on Friday, Sept. 24th. Please don't email me before then as I get a lot of correspondence during the initial week of KRSP.

I hope that everyone has a great time and lots of fun!

Welcome to the group blog of Knitter's Review Secret Pals
Greetings all!

I hope that you find this blog useful. If you're new to the world of blogging, visit the blogger Q and A at http://help.blogger.com/ for some tips on how to blog. This KRSP blog is considered a "team blog". So if you don't already have a blog and aren't interested in setting one up, you can post here in addition to other members of the group. The guidelines for blogging here are simple:
1.) You must be a current participant in the Knitter's Review Secret Pal program
2.) You must email me to let me know that you wish to be a member of the KRSP team blog(You'll receive an invitation to the team blog. Accept it and create a Blogger account so that you can post to the blog. Visit the blog and begin posting)
3.) Profanity and obscenity will not be tolerated as part of the team blog.
4.) Only topics related to knitting and the KRSP program can be discussed in the team blog; politics, opinions, etc. can be discussed in the appropriate sections at Knitter's Review.
5.) You can also post pictures of secret pal prezzies on the team blog. You can download Hello which has an interface with Blogger and uploads pictures instantly. Or if you already have photo hosting through Yahoo, AOl, etc. simply create a link in your post to the appropriate photo.

It's as simple as that. I'm happy to assist with the process but I'm not an expert on blogging. I look forward to seeing how creative everyone gets over the next eight weeks! Remember to have fun...
