Last Friday, I received a large envelope from my secret pal. In it was a fun little card, a copy of the new VK magazine knit.1
(premiere issue), incense sticks, and a silk hankie scarf kit, which I've never seen/heard of before. I love it!
When I opened the package, this lovely scent of Frankincense and Myrrh wafted out, which I really like. I like the size of knit.1
. Just the right size to put in your bag. It's layout is similar to Vogue, Glamour, Jane, Seventeen, etc. (i.e., like a fashion magazine). There are some nice patterns in there to knit and
I was very intrigued by the silk hankie scarf kit. I had never seen anything like it before. It looks like a folded scarf, but it's actually one very long thin sheet of sheer silk fiber. The kit has enough spun silk for a 6"x50" scarf. You need to "draft" the silk, which means to thin it out to the required thickness for knitting. I need to prep my hands with hand lotion for days before starting this project. The silk is very thin and needs to be handled delicately. The color is "Sea & Sand" and looks tie-dyed. Very nice (I do like tie-dyed clothing). I can't wait to knit it up and see how the colors come out.
, again, Secret Pal!
